Give one and a half logs per swing without losing the half

Skills and tools that boost harvesting usually end up as fractions, and fractions cannot be handed over as items. Rounding every swing up makes the bonus too strong, rounding down makes it worthless. The leftover has to be kept somewhere, and where it lives matters.

Why this works

A promise of one and a half should come true over time, and nothing may be lost between swings. Keeping the leftover with the player, counted in whole small units, pays out exactly the promised amount without luck deciding it.

When not to use it

Skip it when you want surprise, such as a lucky double find that makes players cheer, or when bonuses are always whole numbers anyway. Use a dice roll for the extra item there, and accept that streaks vary.
