The error points to line 1 column 48213 of a file I never wrote

When a game is packed into one file, error messages point into that file, where the position means nothing to you. This entry turns a line and column into the original file and the spot inside it, and shows the text around it.

Why this works

A packed file is just the source files laid end to end, so a position inside it can be turned back by counting. Knowing where each piece begins and ends is enough to name the original file and show the words around the spot.

When not to use it

It only works if the packing step wrote down where each file starts, and from the very same build as the error. Without that record, or when the packed file was changed afterwards, the answer points to the wrong place; rebuild with that record switched on.
