Stop a mashed craft button from crafting three times, but remember one extra press
A nervous player hammers the craft key in the middle of a fight. Either the item is built three times from one stack of ingredients, or the presses are swallowed while the bar runs and the next craft never starts. This entry builds once per press and keeps exactly one in line.
Why this works
A press is an act of will, a held key is not. Counting only the moment the key goes down, and remembering a single press while busy, answers what the player means: do this again soon. Anything more turns a nervous thumb into a pile of items.
When not to use it
Do not buffer when each craft is a heavy choice that the player should confirm each time, such as spending a rare material. Make a second press ask again, since remembering it could spend something the player had changed their mind about.
