Spielerando

Pay out a worker's wood or stone exactly when the tool hits, at any work speed

If a villager gets his wood when the swing starts, the number rises before anything happens on screen. If he gets it at the end, it feels late. And when a speed bonus or a lag spike shortens a swing, hits go missing or are counted twice. This entry says where to pay out and how to count hits when time jumps.

Why this works

The player judges the reward by the picture: the wood must arrive when the blade bites, not before or after. Fixing the hit as a point inside the swing and counting how often that point is passed keeps it true at any speed, and no hit is lost or doubled when time jumps.

When not to use it

Wrong for work that flows without single blows, like fishing with a net, pumping water or a mine that trickles out ore. There pay by time at a steady rate and show the animation as decoration only.
