The scene looks zoomed in on an ultrawide screen and squeezed on a tall one
Games that fix one viewing angle show a different amount of the room on each screen shape: players on wide screens miss the cramped feel, and on narrow ones they see too little. Here is which angle to fix, and the limits that protect the mood.
Why this works
What a scene makes the player feel often depends on how much of the room fits across the screen. Fix that width as the design, and let the height give way, so a wide screen shows the same walls instead of a wider room.
When not to use it
Do not fix the width in games where a wider screen should be an advantage or where the height matters more, such as a tall tower or a falling-block game. Fix the height there, and give a safe minimum width.
