Spielerando

Which phase of my boss fight actually kills players?

Counting where players die makes the first phase look deadliest simply because everybody passes through it. This entry shows how to read the attempts so each phase is judged fairly, and how to treat the attempts that won.

Why this works

A later part of a fight can only kill people who made it that far. Dividing deaths by those who actually entered each part, not by everyone, shows the real chance of dying there and stops the final part from looking harmless.

When not to use it

Do not use it for a fight with one single phase, or with only a handful of attempts. There, watch a few players fight it and note where they struggle, instead of trusting a rate.
