Let an ability store two charges and recover faster with haste

A single cooldown timer is easy until you add stored charges and a speed bonus: charges refill too early, the timer restarts at the wrong time, or a huge bonus makes the ability endless. Here is the bookkeeping that keeps all three right.

Why this works

Stored charges work like a small bank that refills one at a time. Keeping the next arrival time, rather than a timer per use, means spending early costs nothing extra, and a floor on the wait keeps speed bonuses from breaking the ability.

When not to use it

Do not store charges when an ability should be a rare, weighty moment, or when stacking would let players spend several in one burst. A single long wait keeps each use meaningful. Give it one charge and a clear cost.
