Spielerando

A chest table with one-of-a-kind items keeps handing out ones you already own

Some treasures can only be owned once, yet the chest keeps rolling them, and the quick patches either waste the opening or quietly change how often everything else appears. This shows how to keep every remaining chance in proportion.

Why this works

Chances only mean something relative to each other. When an item leaves the pool, the remaining shares must be rescaled together, so every other item keeps its designed proportion to the rest and the draw always ends in something eligible.

When not to use it

Do not use it when an owned duplicate should still pay something back, such as turning a second copy into coins or upgrade dust. Then leave the item in the pool and handle the duplicate after the roll.
