Decide which machines run when a generator's cables reach more than it can supply

Players wire up generators and machines and expect the lights to come on. Machines that touch no cable, or a network with no generator, stay dark, and a network with too little power must pick. Here is how to group the network and which machines get the power.

Why this works

A machine either works or it does not, so spreading a small supply thin leaves everything dead. Handing power out whole, in a fixed order, gives players a plain rule to plan with: build more generators, or choose what matters most.

When not to use it

Wrong for machines that can run slower on less power, such as lamps that dim or fans that turn slowly. There, share the supply in proportion and let every machine work a little, which feels fairer and needs no priority.

Use the Spielerando entry "Decide which machines run when a generator's cables reach more than it can supply" (read_entry survival-generators-share-limited-power) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.
