Spielerando

When players replay a campaign, do they really try the other answers?

A second playthrough is the best test of whether your choices are worth making. But with three options even random picking changes the answer most of the time. This entry shows how to separate real exploring from that background.

Why this works

Changing your pick means little until you know how often pure guessing would change it. With more options, random players change more. Subtracting that baseline separates real exploring from noise and lets choices with different numbers of options be compared.

When not to use it

It tells you little about choices players do not control or notice, and about games few people replay. Those who replay are a curious group, not everyone. Take it as a hint about them, not as a verdict on all.
