Show what other players chose without wrong percentages
Telling players that 62 percent made the same choice is a nice moment, until the numbers add up to 99, or the first ten players make 100 percent look meaningful. Here is how to round honestly and when to say nothing at all.
Why this works
Numbers on a screen are taken as true, so they must add up and mean something. Spreading the leftover points to the biggest fractions keeps the total whole, and hiding the figures until enough people have chosen avoids silly extremes.
When not to use it
Wrong for a game with no real crowd of players, or where tracking choices would conflict with privacy. Skip the screen then, or write one honest line about what the story's own people would choose, and do not invent numbers.
