Give the team a shared pool of lives and decide who gets the last one

A team with a few shared lives makes every fall matter to everybody. The hard case is when two players fall in the same moment and only one life is left. This entry shows what costs a life, what does not, and a ruling that always gives the same answer.

Why this works

A life is only gone when nobody can bring the player back, so that is when it should be paid. When two falls tie, a fixed rule based on the game's own facts is fair, while whoever's message arrived first rewards the better connection.

When not to use it

Do not share lives in a game where players want to feel their own risk, or where one weak player would drain the team's chances. Give each player their own lives, or let a fallen player return after a timer instead.
