Two buttons pressed in the same moment send the hero into the wrong state
When jump and attack arrive together, the result changes with whichever the game happens to read first, and sometimes the hero passes through two states in one tick. This entry shows how to make the outcome the same every single time.
Why this works
When two things arrive at once, the result must depend on what matters most, not on which one the game happened to look at first. Deciding once from the situation at the start of the moment keeps the outcome the same every time and the character from skipping a pose.
When not to use it
Skip it when you want the order of pressing to count, as in games where the first or the last button wins by design, or when feel needs a short memory of earlier presses. Then add a small input memory instead of a fixed ranking.
