Spielerando

Players found they can buy and sell the same thing again and again to get rich

A shop with a discount for friends and a buy-back price looks fair, until rounding makes the sale price one coin higher than the purchase price on certain items. Your AI can test every price in your game for this and list the ones that print money.

Why this works

Prices are rounded to whole coins at both ends, and a rounding that goes up on the way out and down on the way in can create a gain from nothing. Looping over every price once finds all such items at once.

When not to use it

If the sell price is far below the buy price, such as a third, no rounding can close the gap and the check is not needed. It matters when the two rates are close, as with loyalty discounts.
