Spielerando

Let everyone pick a move, then play them out in the right order

When both sides choose in secret and then everything happens together, odd things appear: the dead still attack, a heal lands after the hit that should have been prevented, and ties flip. This entry gives the order and the three outcomes every plan can have.

Why this works

Choices made together are out of date by the time they play out. Checking each plan again at its own moment, in an order players can learn, makes quick moves and guards worth picking and stops fallen fighters from acting.

When not to use it

Skip it when players act one at a time and see each result before choosing: planning ahead adds nothing there. Also skip it if you cannot show the order afterwards, because a hidden order feels like cheating.
