Spielerando

Make a poison or buff last exactly the number of turns it says

A poison that says three turns hurts twice, or four times, and a second dose either does nothing or lasts forever. The count has to be right at the exact moment it ticks. Here is the order of events and the reapply rule that keep it honest.

Why this works

A number on an icon is a promise. When the effect always acts at one fixed moment and in one fixed order, that number is exactly how often it bites, and the player can plan around it. Refreshing instead of piling up keeps totals readable.

When not to use it

Skip it for effects that should grow with every dose, such as a poison that gets worse the more often it is applied, or ones that last until cured. Show strength or a count on the icon there, not the turns left.
