Decide which region applies when two areas overlap on the map
A farm sits inside a forest that lies inside a kingdom, and each of them wants to set the music, the weather and the danger. Here is a clear rule for which one wins at any spot, how borders are cut, and how to catch two areas that tie.
Why this works
An answer must not depend on how a list happens to be ordered. A fixed rule, the most important area first and then the more specific one, gives every spot exactly one owner, and clashes the rule cannot settle are found while loading, not in play.
When not to use it
Skip it when you want areas to blend, such as weather that fades slowly from one region into the next. A hard winner makes a sudden jump at the border; mix the values by distance from the edge instead.
