Decide which players get credit when the story reaches a turning point

The twist fires at the end of a long scene. The one who just left after doing the work, and the one who arrived for the last moment, both ask whether it counts. Here is a window that rewards taking part, not timing, and what to do at the edges.

Why this works

People feel fairly treated when credit follows what they did, not the exact moment they were in the room. Counting effort and presence together rewards real contribution and leaves little to gain from arriving just in time.

When not to use it

Skip it when the turning point is a rare, shared honour that needs everyone truly there, or when credit is unlocked by a single clear act such as the final blow. Then use that act directly.
