One lost network message makes my character stutter on the host
Messages with your key presses sometimes simply vanish, and the host has to guess what you did during the hole. Guessing nothing makes you stop, guessing the same again makes you overshoot. Sending a few recent moves along each time almost removes the problem, and the rest has a good default.
Why this works
A lost message is normal, so the cure is to say each thing more than once. Repeating the last few inputs, and filling any gap with the most likely move for a short while only, covers a hiccup without ever running a player off a cliff.
When not to use it
Do not repeat inputs when each one is an event that must happen only once and cannot be filled in, such as buying an item or firing a single shot. Send those as confirmed messages with an answer, and resend only until it arrives.
