A reward earned while a friend was offline vanishes or lands in a full bag
Gifts, refunds and event prizes have to wait for someone who is not there. Here is a mailbox that cannot hand out the same prize twice, never swallows a prize because the bag is full, and tidies itself without opening a loophole.
Why this works
A prize is a promise, and a promise must be kept exactly once. Giving each mail a name makes repeats harmless, and refusing a half delivery means nothing is lost without notice. Keeping a trace after the claim guards against late repeats.
When not to use it
Skip it when the reward is tiny and the player is online anyway, such as a coin for a kill: hand it over directly. A mailbox adds a screen and a wait that the player will only find annoying.
