Spielerando

Keep drops near the player's level without ever leaving a chest empty

Level 40 gear from the first cave makes progress meaningless, and level 3 daggers deep in the game are just clutter. Filtering by level is easy, but a hard filter leaves gaps. This entry fades the odds smoothly and makes sure something always drops.

Why this works

A reward feels good when it is useful now and a little out of reach. Fading the odds gently, instead of cutting at an edge, keeps variety and avoids gaps, and a fallback means a player never meets an empty chest.

When not to use it

Skip it when players choose their own path and should be able to find something far too strong by exploring, like a hidden treasure in a dangerous corner. The fade would hide those finds. Tie strength to the place instead of the level.
