Check that a word can be made from a rack of letters, blanks included

A word-building game must accept words the player can really spell with the tiles at hand and reject the rest, and repeated letters and joker tiles are where the simple version fails. This entry shows the counting, which tiles a joker replaces, and what that does to the score.

Why this works

A tile can be used once, so the right question is how many of each letter the rack holds, not whether a letter appears. Spending real tiles before blanks keeps the wild tiles for the places that need them.

When not to use it

Whether a word may be played is a second question. The rack check tells you the word can be built, not that it is a real word, and in a game with a board it also needs a place where it fits. Add those checks separately.
