Let a companion heal the right ally and not waste the potion
A helper who heals whoever has the least absolute health, or who tops up a scratch while someone is nearly gone, drives players mad. This entry gives a simple choice rule for a healer that looks smart, leaves the fallen to the revive rule and skips pointless heals.
Why this works
Need is a share, not a count. Half the health gone is a crisis, while the same loss from a huge fighter is a scratch, so judging by the share, and refusing a heal that would mostly be wasted, makes the helper look like it understands the fight.
When not to use it
Skip it when the player should choose who gets healed, or when healing is so cheap that waste does not matter. Then let the player aim the heal, or simply heal the one with the lowest share.
