Spielerando

Four of five testers were confused by the ending: how much does that tell me?

Five people are not a poll, but they are not nothing either. This entry turns a count like four out of five into a range of what is probably true for all players, so you can decide whether to fix it, and how many more testers it would take to be sure.

Why this works

A small group gives a rough hint, not a fact. Showing a range of what is probably true for all players makes the uncertainty visible, so you can tell whether to fix something now, ignore it, or ask more people before deciding.

When not to use it

Do not use it when the testers are friends who influence each other, or were picked because they already like your game, since the range then looks more certain than it is. Also skip it when a fix is free: just make it.
