Testers rate the whole story by its best moment and its last one: check it
People do not average their feelings; they remember a few moments. If you can find out which moment drives the overall verdict of your testers, you know which scene to polish first. This entry compares peak, last scene and plain average.
Why this works
People do not add up every moment of an experience. They remember its strongest moment and how it ended. Checking which of these tracks the final verdict tells you where polish pays off most, instead of improving everything evenly.
When not to use it
With very few testers the result is mostly chance, and it can mislead when everyone rated the last scene the same. Do not use it to excuse a weak middle: players who quit there never reach the end you polished.
