Make armour drops favour the slot where the hero is weakest

Getting a fifth helmet while the boots are still from the first hour is the quickest way to make loot feel pointless. Favouring the weak spot helps, but done strictly it can be gamed by taking gear off. This entry tilts the odds gently and closes that door.

Why this works

Loot feels good when it fills a need. Leaning the odds toward the weakest slot makes finds useful, and judging by everything the hero owns, not only what is worn, keeps the player from gaming it by stripping off gear.

When not to use it

Don't steer drops in a game about luck and surprise, or where players choose to be lopsided on purpose, such as a glass-cannon build. Steering would feel like the game second-guessing them. Leave drops fair and let trading fill the gaps.
