The daily reward streak resets for players who did nothing wrong

Someone collects every day and still loses a ten-day streak, or collects twice in one evening. The cause is how the game decides what a day is. This entry settles it, including travellers, clocks set backwards and the hour when the clocks change.

Why this works

A streak counts calendar days, not hours. Turning a moment into a day number in the player's own time zone makes "yesterday" a simple subtraction that keeps working when the clocks change.

When not to use it

Skip local days when the reward must be the same for everybody at the same moment, such as a shared event. Use one fixed zone for the event, and say so in the game.

In the full entry

  • What to build, step by step
  • Starting values and the reason for each
  • 3 common mistakes and the fix
  • A diagram of every state
  • 25 lines of example code with 4 checks that pass
  • How your AI shows you that it works

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "The daily reward streak resets for players who did nothing wrong" (read_entry daily-reward-streak-timezone-and-clock) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
