Count a "land a long combo" challenge so one big swing cannot fill it
One spinning attack hits six enemies and the combo challenge is nearly done in a blink. Or a slow pause lets the counter reset just before the finish. Here is how to decide what adds to a combo, what breaks it, and when the challenge is won.
Why this works
A combo measures skill in keeping up the pace, so each deliberate move should count once, however many things it touches. Keeping the best ever reached, because the live number collapses, makes the result match the highest moment the player earned.
When not to use it
Skip it when area attacks are the point of the game and hitting many enemies should be rewarded. Count victims there, or give the crowd its own separate challenge.
