Keep a cold status from flickering on and off during a fight
In snow and at night, fighters lose body heat, but a plain threshold makes the shivering icon blink every other turn when the value hovers near the line. This entry gives the heat rules and the status switching that stays calm and still hurts at the right time.
Why this works
A signal that flips back and forth at the edge of a line looks broken. Asking for a little more to leave a state than it took to enter it gives the status some inertia, so it changes when things really change, and stays calm when the value only wobbles.
When not to use it
Skip it when the player should see every small change, such as a plain temperature gauge, or when the status has no icon or effect that could blink. Then show the raw number and let the player judge it themselves.
