Find choices where every option leads to the same result
Players feel cheated when they agonise over a choice and then see that it made no difference. Some of these are intended, but many are accidents. Here is a way to list every choice whose options are the same underneath, so you decide on purpose.
Why this works
A choice is only a choice if the player can later tell the difference. What counts is where each option leads and what it leaves behind that something still reads, not how the words differ, so equal outcomes expose a false choice.
When not to use it
Wrong to hunt down every such case. A reply that only changes the mood is a fair gift for roleplay, in small doses. Mark it as flavour on purpose, and fix the choice only when several of them follow each other.
