Pop loot out of a chest so every item lands on its own spot
Random scatter puts items on top of each other so the player cannot see or click them, and a perfect ring looks fake as soon as there are more items than fit around it. Here is a layout that works for one item or thirty and lets you point it away from walls.
Why this works
A sunflower grows its seeds at one fixed turn each, which never lines up with the last, so they pack evenly at any count. Borrowing that pattern gives even gaps for one item or many, with no luck and no retries.
When not to use it
Skip it when the spots matter to the game, such as a puzzle where items must land on marked tiles, or a shop shelf with set slots. There, list the places by hand and fill them in order.
