Spielerando

Make enemy turrets lead their shots so they hit a moving hero

A turret aimed straight at the hero always shoots behind a moving target, and the AI's first fix is to aim at where the hero will be after a guessed time. This entry finds the exact aim point, and says clearly when no shot can ever catch the target.

Why this works

The shot and the target must reach the same spot at the same moment. That is a question with an exact answer, not a guess to be nudged: you ask when both can arrive together, and when the target runs away faster than the shot flies, you learn that no such moment exists.

When not to use it

Skip it when you want enemies to be beatable by moving: a turret that always leads perfectly feels unfair. Aim at the current spot, or add a deliberate error, so that changing direction at the last moment still saves the player.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Make enemy turrets lead their shots so they hit a moving hero" (read_entry action-aim-ahead-of-moving-target) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
