Fix a homing missile that spins the long way round or circles its target
A homing missile sometimes turns almost a full circle to face something just behind it, or flips wildly when the target crosses straight behind. The angle wraps around at one point and the AI forgets that. This entry turns by the short way with a limited speed.
Why this works
Directions live on a circle, where going far past one side brings you back to the other. The honest distance between two directions is therefore the shorter way round, and a limited turn per moment gives the missile a believable weight instead of an instant snap.
When not to use it
Skip it when the thing should follow a fixed path, like a rocket on rails, or when it should be impossible to dodge, such as a magic bolt that always lands. Then steer it directly, or move it along a line to the target.
