My character's name is spelled two ways in the script and the voice lines do not match

A single wrong letter in a speaker name creates a second character with no portrait, no voice and no colour. This entry finds look-alike names, tells which spelling is probably the right one, and leaves genuine pairs of similar names alone.

Why this works

A name that appears rarely next to an almost identical name that appears often is far more likely a slip than a new person. Weighing how often each is used separates a typo from two characters who really do have similar names.

When not to use it

Do not apply it blindly to a cast built on look-alike names, or when a side character is deliberately named once. The list is only a suggestion; show it to the writer and change nothing without a yes.
