Fix things that shake or jitter when the player is far from the world's start

Far from where the world began, the player may see shivering walls, a shaking camera and tiny steps that do not register. Nothing is wrong with the art. This entry shows the AI how much precision is left at a distance and how to move the world instead of the player.

Why this works

Numbers held by the graphics chip get coarser the farther they are from zero, so far-away things cannot be placed finely. Instead of asking for more detail, move the world back toward zero and remember how far you moved it.

When not to use it

It is unneeded in small worlds where the player never goes far, and it adds risk, since every stored position must be shifted back and forth correctly. If the shaking appears near the start too, the cause is something else, such as the camera or the physics.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Fix things that shake or jitter when the player is far from the world's start" (read_entry shaking-far-from-the-start) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.
