Spielerando

Load the land around the player in a circle without reloading at the edge

A player who walks back and forth along the edge of the loaded area makes the game build and throw away the same piece of land again and again. This entry gives the AI the shape to load, the order to load it in, and a margin that ends the stutter.

Why this works

A line that triggers an action will be crossed back and forth by someone standing near it. Using one line to bring land in and a farther line to throw it out means a small step back and forth never reaches the second line, so nothing is rebuilt.

When not to use it

A circle around the player is the wrong shape for a world that is a long corridor or has fixed levels, where you know what comes next. Load along the route ahead instead, and for small worlds simply keep everything loaded.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Load the land around the player in a circle without reloading at the edge" (read_entry load-land-around-player-without-flicker) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
