Shooting one more bullet changes what the next chest contains
With one shared random source, anything that draws a number shifts every number that comes after it. A player who reloads a save and plays slightly differently finds different loot, and a replay drifts apart. Splitting the source by purpose fixes both.
Why this works
One shared source of luck ties unrelated things together: whatever draws a number moves every number after it. Giving each purpose its own source keeps them apart, so a change in one place cannot reach into another, and a saved game replays the same way.
When not to use it
Skip it when you want the luck to be tied together, or when exact repeats do not matter, such as a casual game with no saves and no daily challenge. Several sources add bookkeeping for nothing there. One source is simpler and enough.
