Spielerando

Bring back loot that fell through the floor or into the void

Dropped items sometimes roll off a cliff, sink into rock or vanish below the map, and a quest item lost that way can end a save. A rescue should return it somewhere the owner can reach, without teleporting it into a trap again and again, and it needs an exit when rescues keep failing.

Why this works

Players forgive a bug in the world but not the loss of what they earned. Remembering the last place that was truly safe lets you undo the accident, and a fixed number of tries with a last-resort exit stops a rescue from turning into an endless loop.

When not to use it

Skip it when falling is part of the game, such as a pit where lost things are meant to be gone for good, or when the world has no void at all. Fix the hole in the level instead of hiding it with a rescue.
