Spielerando

I replay a reported bad run from its seed, but it ends differently

A saved start value and the player's inputs should rebuild a run exactly, and when they do not, something in your game depends on more than you think. This entry shows how to find the first moment two runs part ways cheaply, without storing every state.

Why this works

If a run cannot be rebuilt from its start value and inputs, something hidden is changing the result, such as time or the order of things. Short fingerprints taken at regular steps show where two runs part ways without keeping every state.

When not to use it

It finds the stretch where runs differ, not the cause itself, and you still need a full log for that stretch. When the game is small, keeping every step is simpler. Do not compare fingerprints made on different devices without rounding.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "I replay a reported bad run from its seed, but it ends differently" (read_entry replay-of-a-run-does-not-match-the-original) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
