How do I know every level of my sliding puzzle can be solved?
In a puzzle where the piece keeps sliding until something stops it, a level that looks fine can be impossible, and you will not find that by clicking around. Here is a small solver your AI can run over every level, and the one rule people get wrong about the goal.
Why this works
When a puzzle has few possible positions, a machine can try them all in order of effort, so it either finds the shortest answer or shows that none exists. That is a certainty, which no amount of playing by hand can give you.
When not to use it
Skip it when the board changes while you play, with moving enemies, falling blocks or random events, because the picture of all positions no longer fits. Test those levels by playing, or use a solver that includes time. Huge boards can also be too big to try in full.
