Spielerando

My match-three board starts with matches already on it or no move to make

A fresh board that pops by itself, or one where nothing can be moved, ruins the first seconds of a level. Your AI usually checks only one of the two. This entry gives a start check for both, including the moves that only work in a direction people forget.

Why this works

A board is only fair when no reading already counts as a match and at least one swap would make one. Testing swaps on a copy of the board lets the same match finder judge every move.

When not to use it

Skip it for boards designed by hand with fixed pieces. Also skip it where pieces can be swapped across the whole board; then a move almost always exists.

In the full entry

  • What to build, step by step
  • Starting values and the reason for each
  • 3 common mistakes and the fix
  • A diagram of every state
  • 42 lines of example code with 4 checks that pass
  • How your AI shows you that it works

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "My match-three board starts with matches already on it or no move to make" (read_entry match-three-start-board-already-matches) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
