Spielerando

The board has no possible move left and the player is stuck

After enough turns a swap-and-match board can reach a state where nothing can be matched, and the game just sits there. Detecting that and fixing it is easy to get wrong: a shuffle can create matches or leave the board stuck again. Here is the complete check and a safe reshuffle.

Why this works

A stuck board is a dead end the player did nothing to cause, so the game must notice it and fix it quietly. Mixing the tiles you already have keeps the level goal reachable, and accepting only boards that are clean and playable makes sure the fix does not create a new problem.

When not to use it

Skip it when running out of moves is the point of the game, as in a puzzle with a fixed number of turns or a mode where the board is meant to fill up. Then end the round and show the result instead of mixing the tiles.
