Catch item names that look different but are the same thing to the game

Over a long chat the AI may add the same sword three times under slightly different names, and the shop, the loot and the quest then disagree about which one is real. This entry shows how to group such near-twins before they split your item list.

Why this works

Computers compare letters exactly, while people see the same word in many spellings. Reducing each name to a plain form that drops differences with no meaning shows which names are really one thing, and leaving the choice to a person avoids merging two different items by guess.

When not to use it

Skip it when your names are deliberately close, such as a numbered series of rings or a game where capitals separate two items. Then the plain form would merge things that should stay apart. Use a fixed naming rule from the start instead.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Catch item names that look different but are the same thing to the game" (read_entry item-ids-that-are-secretly-the-same) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
