Let auto-crafters share materials without the cheap recipe starving the important one

With several automatic crafters running, the cheap recipe that is always affordable eats every plank the moment it arrives, and the expensive recipe the player actually wants never gets its turn. This entry lets important recipes hold back what they will need soon.

Why this works

What matters most should not lose out to what is merely easy. A job that is stuck waiting for one thing must hold on to the rest of what it needs, otherwise cheaper jobs keep eating the shared supply and the important one can never finish.

When not to use it

Do not hold supplies back when stock is plentiful, or when the waiting job may never get its missing piece. A reserve that never gets used just freezes materials. Let the cheap job run freely, or let the player choose which jobs may reserve.
