Friends dance together, but the late one is always half a step off
A shared emote looks great when everybody moves as one, and silly when a newcomer starts from the first frame in the middle of someone else's loop. Sending the leader's exact frame costs too much and still arrives late. Here is how a newcomer joins so that nobody can tell.
Why this works
A loop built from whole beats looks identical at every beat, so starting on a beat boundary lands on the same pose the others show. A short wait for the next beat costs little, and using a shared start time keeps everyone together without sending any frames.
When not to use it
Wrong for dances without a clear beat or loops that cannot be cut into equal beats, and when the wait would feel like lag, such as a quick wave. Let the newcomer start at once there, and accept being slightly off.
