Limit how often a screen flashes during a horror scene

Strobing lightning, flickering lights and scare flashes can hurt some players, and a sequence that looks fine alone becomes a rapid blink when two effects overlap. Here is a small check on the timeline that finds crowded seconds and thins them out.

Why this works

The eye reacts to all light changes on screen at once, not to each effect alone. So the safe count has to be taken over everything that flashes together, and trimming the repeat rather than the cause keeps the scare readable.

When not to use it

This is no medical guarantee and does not replace a switch the player controls. Players with light sensitivity may need all flashing off, and large bright areas can cause trouble without any single flash. Offer a soft fade and take expert advice.
