Play a sound when a swinging or bouncing move first touches its goal
With eased and bouncy movement the object reaches its goal long before the animation ends, so a sound or effect timed at the end comes late. Here is how to find the real moment of arrival, or any other point on the way, and what to do when it never gets there.
Why this works
What the eye calls a landing is the first time the thing touches the goal, not the end of the wobble. When a move swings past and back, that first touch comes early, so the sound has to be placed by finding that moment, not by guessing the end.
When not to use it
Don't use it when the sound is tied to something else, such as the player's step or a real collision: let that event trigger it. Also not for smooth moves without a wobble, where the end is the touch, so the plain duration is enough.
