Spielerando

A falling block turns into the wall or the stack and the move must still work

Turning a piece next to a wall either sends part of it out of the board or into filled squares, and a game that just refuses feels sticky. This entry shows a rotation check that tries small nudges in a set order before giving up, so the turn feels natural at the edge.

Why this works

A turn is only a request, and the answer depends on the room around the piece. Computing the turned piece fresh, trying a short list of nudges in a fixed order and keeping the first fit means a refused turn changes nothing.

When not to use it

Nudges can feel like cheating in a strict game, and they can allow turns that look wrong. If you want strict rules, accept only the plain turn. Pick one style on purpose and tell the player which it is.
