Make the daily puzzle the same for every player, whatever their time zone
A daily challenge only works if everyone gets the same one, yet phones disagree about what day it is, and a random pick differs per player. This entry shows how to derive the day, the puzzle number and the seed from one clock reading and when the next puzzle arrives.
Why this works
Phones disagree about local dates, but they all agree on how much time has passed since one fixed moment. Counting whole days from that moment gives everyone the same number, and anything built only from that number comes out identical for every player.
When not to use it
Skip it when the puzzle should differ per player, or when players may start whenever they like, such as a level that is always available. Then a shared daily clock only adds a deadline nobody asked for; hand out puzzles in order instead.
