Every player should get the same daily level, wherever they live
A daily challenge needs one level that is the same for everyone on the same day and different on the next. Using the device date splits players by time zone, and using the date number directly makes neighbouring days look alike. Here is the date-to-seed step with the rollover handled.
Why this works
Everyone must agree on which day it is before they can share a level. Take the date from one trusted clock in one world-wide time, turn it into a plain count of days, and scramble that count so that a neighbouring day gives an unrelated level.
When not to use it
Skip it when the challenge is meant to feel local, such as a morning-only event in the player's own time zone, or when players can start any puzzle they like. Then a shared world clock is a rule nobody wanted; use their own calendar.
